My Opinion on Religion.

I was speaking with a friend of mine recently. He said that, basically, religion is a matter of someone's opinion verses another's opinion.
Even though I am passionate about my Catholic Faith, I would have to agree from some perspective people might see that religious beliefs are just that...my opinion verses theirs.
But, I would contend a very important difference between my opinion, when I am stating the teaching of the Catholic Church, verses their own opinion.
That being, "my opinion" or actually the "Teaching of the Catholic Church" goes back at least 2000 years. And if you accept our roots in Judaism then we go back, at least, another 4,000 years! And behind my "opinion" are over 1 billion people presently and if we count the 6,000 years of the history of my faith then there would be well over a billion people throughout history that have adhered to the "teachings" that I follow. Plus, some of the greatest minds - St. Augustine, St. Jerome, Pope John Paul II - throughout history have followed the teachings of the Catholic Church!
Whereas, my friend, has his opinion...

It isn't that Ann Landers is an expert, rather, it shows that even secular society accepts the origin of the Catholic Church.
Many on-line encyclopedias say that the original Christian Church is the Catholic Church.
The Encyclopedia Britannica says that the Catholic Church is the original Christian church. And the Encyclopedia Britannica is accepted in a court of law as official testimony.
