"All Generations Will Call Me Blessed"
|
The Visitation of Mary Luke 1:39 - 45.
When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with
the Holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, Most blessed are you among women and
blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord
should come to me?"
NOTE: A former Roman Catholic once said to me that Mary couldn't be the Mother of God
because that would mean that God came from Mary!
The scripture in verse 43 says that the Holy Spirit speaking through Elizabeth calls Mary the
Mother of God! (This is Dogma)
{1} The Council of Ephesus in 431 A.D. defined the first Marian Dogma, the Mother of God.
"THEOTOKOS," proclaims that Mary is truly the Mother of God the Son made man:
"the Holy Virgin is the Mother of God since according to the flesh she brought forth the Word
of God made flesh. " Dogma Also in 451 by the Council of Chalcedon.
{2}The Perpetual Virginity of Mary , the Lateran Council in 649 A.D.
{3} Pope Pius IX proclaimed Dogma in 1854." The Immaculate Conception of
Mary."
{4} The Dogma of the "Assumption of Mary' was defined by Pope Pius XII in 1950.
MARY AS THE NEW ARK
What made the "Ark" holy?
{Manna, the rod of Aaron that blossomed, The 10 commandments}
The Ten Commandments = "Word of God" made flesh,
Manna = the "Miracle Bread"
The Bread of Life
Priestly, "Rod" that blossomed =
The Priesthood of Christ
St. Luke was doing his best to show Mary as the "New Ark" of the New Covenant.
There are ten similarities altogether; I have given you 8 below:
1. David Leaps before the "Ark" [2 Sam 6:16)
John Leaps before Mary [Luke 1:44]
2. David is afraid, "Who am I..." [2 Sam 6:9)
Elizabeth is afraid... "Who am I..." [Luke 1:43]
3. Ark three months [2 Sam 6:11]
Mary three months [Luke 1:56]
4. Ark contains old Law [Deut. 10:2]
Mary carries new Law
5. Ark contains Manna
Mary carries "Bread of Life"
6. Ark contains "Rod of Aaron" signifying old Priesthood
Mary carries Jesus signifying new Priesthood
7. "David arose and went..." [2 Sam 6:2]
"Mary arose and went..." [Luke 1:39)
8. The "Ark" was in "hill" country at the "house of Abinadab" [2 Sam 6:3]
Mary went to Elizabeth, who lived in the "hill country". [Luke 1:39]

Q: SHOULD CHRISTIANS HONOR JESUS'
MOTHER MARY?
A: Jesus being a good Jew and more importantly
God would keep the 10 Commandments! Jesus
would also keep the commandment to "Honor thy
father and thy mother".
And, if we as Christians follow what St. Paul says in
[1 Thessalonians 1:6] "And you became imitators of
us and of the Lord,".
As imitators of Christ we would . . .
(according to Scripture)...
Honor The Blessed Mother.
