DIVINE ROMANCE
based on the Sunday homily for March 2, 2003
by Archbishop Favalora (Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Miami)
Hosea 2:14 "So I will allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak to her heart.
15 From there I will give her the vineyards she had, and the valley of Achor as a door of hope. She shall respond there as in the days of her youth, when she came up from the land of Egypt."
Married couples grow alike in their relationship with one another. After time many couples even begin to look like one another.
Jesus is our spouse. As we spend time with Him we will become more like Him. Over time we may even begin to look like Him!
Sr. Briege Mckenna says; "To get a suntan all one is required to do is go sit in the sun. The sun does the rest.

To become
Christ-like
all we need do is sit in Adoration. The Son does the rest!"

We need to grow - to mature, in our relationship with God. We need to love Jesus' heart and mind.
There are so many people today who love Jesus in an immature way. They are infatuated with Jesus the way my sister Janet is infatuated with Sean Connery, the movie actor.
They love, not for what they can do for the object of their love; but, rather, for what their lover can do for them. They don't want any struggle.
Let us take advantage of the gift that Adoration is and use this special time to become more Christ-like.
Let us draw close to our spouse...
